Over the years, I’ve had a very wide range of vices.  Obessions?  Hobbies?  Let’s go with VOH’s (vices/obsessions/hobbies).  This primarily presents as collections of things that I like to spend money on.  (we’ll discuss the “spending money” issue another time, thankyouverymuch).  At one point in my life, it was shoes.  I had the most beautiful collection of heels that a girl could ever hope to have.  This was back in my administrative assistant days.  I still have several pairs of my favorites, though I NEVER wear them.  LOL.  I pet them, tell them they are pretty and put them back on the shelf.

I moved from heels to converse during nursing school.   After the shoes, it was fabric. OMG.  I LOVE fabric. I  was sewing (clothing, quilting) extensively at the time, and boy oh boy did I collect (hoard?) fabric.  I had NO money at that time, and even had my momma ask her friends for any fabric scraps or extras they had.  They absolutely obliged. Lol.  That held on for quite a while. During nusring school, which was a pretty rough go, I rekindled my love of Wonder Woman.  I figured, a girls’ gotta channel her inner super hero to get through these things, right?  That took off pretty soundly.  Let’s just say I’m easy to buy gifts for.  LOL   During Covid, I got into doing my own dip nails.  I had an ENORMOUS collection of supplies and dip powders.  It was pretty fun!  Once I started working more, though, I didn’t have the time to do my own nails anymore (I was SO slow and it took FOREVER).  THEN, I got sucked into the Stanley cup craze by one of my daughters.  And you should know, ALL in or not in at all around here.  LOL.  About 2 years ago, I picked up crocheting again.  (another grandbaby, another baby blanket <3).  And I’ve not stopped since.  So, NOW, my VOH is BOTH stanley cups and YARN.  Siiiigh. SO. MUCH. YARN.  And, yes, I’m always looking at more.  Trying SO hard to not buy more right now. I don’t have room for much more!  LOL.  One pro of having kids move out, though, is you can expand into their old space.  B’s closet?  Yarn storage. LOL.  T’s closet?  Linens and bedding.  So, now and again, you’ll see my pretty, dressed up Stanleys.  And, a bit more often, you’ll see my many, many crochet projects.  I call that Crochet-D-D.  4-10 projects going at any one time.  Keeps the brain active.  Keeps me off my phone.  And somewhat productive.  Right?  RIGHT?  Just say yes, please.  LOL

Hi-sies and welcome!

Your author is fresh into her 5th decade.  She is on a journey of self-discovery, self-improvement and ….  wait, wait, wait.  Sheesh.  She’s a hot mess, folks.  She sure tries, though.  She has both mid- and young adult children; some attempting to launch, others fully established. She’s working on her fitness (fergie-ferg!) and trying to figure out who the hell she is at this point in her life.  None of her people really need taking care of these days… So, she’s been left to attempt to figure out how to take care of herself. And it’s messy, folks.   She’s medicated.  She’s menopausal. And you have a formal invitation to the whole fucking mess.

Be prepared for foul language, random musical lyrics, obscure movie references and fairly ridiculous jokes.

(did I write this intro in the third person?  Yes, yes,  I did.  Why, you may ask innocently?  Who the eff knows.  LOL.  Sometimes I think I’m cute. )
